When Canada was founded in 1867, the foundation that would evolve into what The Shaw Group is today, was already six years old.
The Shaw Group is more than a natural resource manufacturer, community developer, or residential builder—we are a family. Founded over 164 years ago by Robert Shaw with the first brick plant in Hantsport, Nova Scotia, we remain a fourth-generation family business.
Today, The Shaw Group has grown into twelve distinct business divisions across the Maritime provinces, employing over 600 people and producing nearly 1,000 unique products. Our five retail Shaw Centres and network of more than 300 dealers distribute our products, many of which are featured in our master-planned communities—home to over 80,000 residents. Through our work, we create significant economic impact while staying true to our core values and the best interests of the communities we serve.
Our traditional market area of Atlantic Canada has grown to include all of North America and we have also exported to Japan, China, Sweden, and Germany. Each Shaw Group operation is a leader in its own field and we are determined to stay ahead of our competitors.
