MANAGER, DARTMOUTH MASONRY CENTER

Our Shaw Brick division is currently looking for a Manager for our Dartmouth Masonry Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for the local marketing and operations of The Shaw Brick Dartmouth Masonry Center. Integrity, vision and passion are essential for this role. STUDENT INSIDE SALES ASSOCIATES
Shaw Brick
Dartmouth, NS and Moncton, NB

Our Shaw Brick division is currently looking for two students for our upcoming season to work as an Inside Sales Representative with our Masonry Center Teams. We require one student per location for our Dartmouth and Fredericton centers. Bilingual (French / English) will be considered a strong asset for our Fredericton location.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Contacting existing and potential customers via phone to help promote Shaw Brick Products.
• Providing prompt and courteous service and solutions to all customers of Shaw Brick in person, by telephone and by e-mail.
• Maintaining professional relationships with customers at all times with strong emphasis on customer service.
• Taking orders from customers and log into the Shaw computer system. Where appropriate, suggest alternate solutions.
• Handling cash, credit, interact and account sales transactions and accounting for all sales on a daily basis.
• Maintaining awareness of product inventory levels, to ensure adequate customer service. Liaise with the main office as required to ensure adequate inventory levels and deliveries.
• Representing Shaw Brick at home shows and other trade functions. Assisting with setting up and dismantling display booths.
• Assisting with semi-annual inventory.
• Other related tasks as may be required.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

• Minimum Grade XII or equivalent.
• Training in the field of business or office administration of customer service will be considered a strong asset, as well as experience in customer service and/or inside sales.
• Familiarity with Shaw Brick products and/or the construction and landscaping industry will be considered an asset.
• Good computer skills; training and/or experience with various computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask related to managing a number of customers and the corresponding orders and paperwork effectively and efficiently.

LIFT TRUCK OPERATOR (Plant to yard)

We are currently looking for a Lift-Truck Operator (Plant to yard) for our Hess Plant in Lantz, NS. This is a seasonal position typically between April and December depending on production needs. The successful candidate will serve as an operator on both a lift-truck and the palletizer and carry out additional tasks as assigned.

Operating Forklift other duties include:

  • Picking orders
  • Working with shipping department to insure paper work and loads are correct
  • Other tasks as assigned
  • Keeping yard neat and clean
  • Checking loads that are made up to insure are correct
  • Do outside rounds daily
  • Must be able to load trucks (spare yardman)
  • Cleaning of mixer
  • Will be required to work at Tumbler or Splitter

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Aptitude for balancing safety as the priority with the demands of production
  • Positive attitude and motivated to contribute to high production effort
  • Minimum Grade XII or equivalent
  • Must be able to operate lift truck in a safe manner

LIFT-TRUCK/PALLETIZER OPERATOR
Shaw Brick
Lantz, NS

We are currently looking for an Inside Lift-Truck/Palletizer Operator for our Paver Plant in Lantz, NS. This is a seasonal position typically between April and December depending on production needs. The successful candidate will serve as an operator on both a lift-truck and the palletizer and carry out additional tasks as assigned.

The lift-truck will be operated from the Hess RH1500 paver machine to the dryers and back. As the Lift-Truck Operator the employee will take “wet” or uncured product from the paver machine to the dryer and return with the “dry” (cured) product from the previous shift to the palletizer.
When working as the Palletizer Operator the employee will insure wooden pallets are placed on conveyer when required and monitor the inline wrap machine.

Other Duties will include but not necessarily be limited to:

  • Picking orders
  • Splitting Stackstone
  • Working at the Tumbler
  • Fixing pallets
  • Working in wet cast plant
  • Other tasks as assignments

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Aptitude for balancing safety as the priority with the demands of production

We are currently looking for a Tumbler/Splitter Operator for our Hess Plant in Lantz, NS. This is a seasonal position typically between April and December depending on production needs. The successful candidate will serve as an operator on both a lift-truck and the palletizer and carry out additional tasks as assigned.

Duties will include but not necessarily be limited to:

  • Picking orders
  • Splitting
  • Working at the Tumbler
  • Working in wet cast plant
  • May be required to work an afternoon shift (10am-6pm)
  • Other tasks as assigned
  • Cleaning mixer

The successful candidate will carry out additional tasks as assigned.

CSR / YARD PERSON

We are currently looking for a Customer Service / Yard Representative for our Fredericton, NB location. This is a temporary position.

The CSR/Yard Person will be responsible for:

  • Over-the-counter sales and customer service
  • Handling cash, credit, and interact transactions, as well as account sales
  • Filling customer orders in a timely, efficient, and friendly manner
  • Representing Shaw Brick at home shows and other trade functions
  • Assisting with semi-annual inventory
  • Safe operation of a forklift
  • Safety in the yard, including safe conduct by all customers and staff
  • Loading and unloading of trucks both by hand and using the forklift
  • Maintaining the yard in a neat and organized fashion.

  • Grade XII or equivalent; post-secondary training in customer service/sales will be considered a strong asset

• Developing and executing strategies aimed at growing target accounts related to geography, market segment, product line or account resulting in revenue growth
• Providing or facilitating technical assistance to customers and other sales staff to ensure all sales activity is fully supported
• Producing quotes and proposals for projects of all sizes and building segments
• Assist in the coordination of deliveries to all projects large and small
• Promoting extra products and services including coaching internal customer contact points on this topic
• Coordinating sales and service of customers with other Shaw Group divisions

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
• University degree in Sciences or Engineering, or technical diploma in Civil or Industrial Engineering
