Dean Robertson President and Chief Executive Officer

Dean Robertson is President and Chief Executive Officer of The Shaw Group Limited. A graduate of both Acadia University with a Certificate in Applied Science and the Technical University of Nova Scotia with a Degree in Industrial Engineering, Dean held managerial positions with McCain Foods Limited and Lewis Mouldings Limited before joining The Shaw Group in 1997. As General Manager of Shaw Wood, he led a strong team who grew the company to become one of IKEA’s top-ranking producers in North America. Appointed General Manager of Prestige Homes in 2006, Dean restructured the business model based on the new realities in the housing industry and saw huge success. Dean’s strong leadership skills and commitment to growth and innovation made him a natural fit to lead the entire Shaw Group of companies. His current focus is on growth in both manufacturing and real estate operations, as well as developing talent and shareholder strategies. Always committed to professional development, Dean recently attended Duke University’s Advanced Management Program. He has served on various wood sector boards and also Enterprise Fundy, a community economic development agency in New Brunswick. An avid cyclist, Dean enjoys participating in the occasional triathlon.
Lindsay Hawker Corporate Secretary

Lindsay Hawker serves as Corporate Secretary and General Legal Counsel for The Shaw Group. She joined the company in 2014 in the role of Director of Real Estate Services at Clayton Developments, before moving onto her current position in 2015. Lindsay has a BA, Advanced Double Major from Dalhousie University. After obtaining her undergraduate degree, Lindsay went on to study law at Dalhousie University and graduated in 2003. She then worked as a lawyer in private practice at McInnes Cooper, specializing in corporate, commercial, and real estate law. Lindsay has served on the Neptune Theatre Board of Directors and was also President of Nova Scotia Real Estate Division of the Canadian Bar Association.
Allan Horsburgh Chief Financial Officer
The Shaw Group Limited
Allan Horsburgh is the Chief Financial Officer for The Shaw Group Limited. A graduate
of Saint Mary’s University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, and later from
Deloitte’s with his Chartered Accounting designation, Allan has held many senior roles
throughout several organizations in his career, including VP and CFO roles in both the
IWK and Nova Scotia Health Authority. These roles included a focus on major real
estate construction projects, as well as leading the business and financial planning,
procurement, facility operations, and IT. Since joining The Shaw Group, Allan has been
focused on helping grow the business through data and analytics, and building a strong
support team for the many different operations. Allan is also an artist, author, past
professor at Dalhousie University, and enjoys volunteering on Boards of many
not-for-profit organizations, including most recently as the Treasurer of Camp Brigadoon
for children with chronic health conditions.
Glenn Hardie General Manager
Shaw Resources
Glenn Hardie is General Manager of Shaw Resources. With The Shaw Group since 1994, he has held an array of positions in Operations, Sales Management, and Business Management. After earning a Bachelor of Commerce from Saint Mary’s University in 1993, Glenn was designated a Certified Management Accountant in 1998, and completed an MBA degree from Queen’s University in 2005. He has been active on several industry boards including the Pellet Fuel Institute, the Nova Scotia Chapter of Skills Canada, the Wood Pellet Association of Canada, and the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters.
Glenn is focused on identifying, processing, and adding as much value as possible to natural resource-based materials; including sand & gravels, industrial minerals, and wood pellets to provide solutions for industrial, building supply, ready-mix concrete, and construction sectors. Glenn is most proud of the dedicated and loyal people at Shaw he has encountered over his career, and he enjoys watching them achieve their potential as they work to make things at Shaw better every day.
Jason Brunt President, Clayton Developments Limited
Sr. Vice President, Shaw Real Estate
Jason Brunt is the President of Clayton Developments Limited. A graduate of Mount Saint Vincent University, Jason has held many senior sales and operations management roles throughout his career, including Senior Sales Director, North America with Pepsi out of New York. Jason’s experience working with organizations of various sizes combined with his focus on business growth initiatives made him an ideal candidate for Clayton Developments. Since joining the organization, he has been focused on growing the real estate land development division through strong data and analytics, and building a strong team of specialists. Having lead teams of more than 500 people in past roles, Jason is known for being a bold leader, calculated risk taker, and inventive thinker. These qualities made him a natural fit to take on the role of the company’s president in 2020 and have helped to grow The Shaw Group and Clayton Developments in exciting new ways. Always ready to motivate and inspire, Jason takes leadership outside of the office to the basketball courts, coaching young athletes in his community and sharing his passion for the game.
Jeff MacLean General Manager
Shaw Brick
Jeff MacLean is General Manager of Shaw Brick. He is a graduate of Saint Mary’s University where he earned a B.SC. and the Technical University of Nova Scotia where he completed his engineering degree. Prior to joining the Shaw team, Mr. MacLean was President of Michelin North America (Canada) Inc. and VP of the Michelin Group worldwide Off Highway Transportation Line. MacLean has served for over 30 years in manufacturing and leadership positions in Nova Scotia and internationally. The first half of his career was focused on engineering, quality, operational, and change leadership roles within North American. Subsequently he served in an international role, based in France and the US, focused on progress of worldwide business lines. He returned back to Canada in 2005. MacLean is a highly driven leader whose extensive experience in manufacturing and in leading operations in Canada and internationally gives him a unique perspective on the opportunities facing businesses in Canada today. He is known for coaching youth sports, volunteering with the Special Olympics of Nova Scotia and is currently an NSBI and CCMPA Board Member.
Ryan Brookman General Manager
Precast Solutions
Ryan Brookman is General Manager of Shaw Precast Solutions. Since joining The Shaw Group in 2011, his responsibilities have included Engineering, Operations, and Technical Sales within Precast Solutions. After earning his B.A.Sc. in Civil Engineering from The University of Akron in 2008, he worked for URS in Mississippi in construction management for a major Hurricane Katrina relief project. He went on to earn his M.A.Sc. in Environmental Engineering from Dalhousie University in 2010, and his MBA from IE Business School in Madrid, Spain in 2017. Ryan is a member of the CSA Technical Committee for Concrete Pipe, and is a member of Engineers Nova Scotia.
Joe Gushue General Manager
Prestiges Homes
Joe Gushue is General Manager of Prestige Homes. Prior to joining The Shaw Group in 2004, Gushue was employed by J.D. Irving. He served as the Operations Manager at Prestige for six years before being appointed General Manager. Gushue graduated from the University of Western Ontario’s Ivey School of Business Executive Leadership Program and holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from UNB. He currently sits on the Canadian Wood Manufacturing Council Board of Directors.
Brady Hawley Vice President of Technical Solution
The Shaw Group Limited
Brady Hawley is Vice-President of Technical solutions for The Shaw Group. Since 1994, he has held the various positions including Manager, Operational Excellence at Shaw Brick and Operations Manager and Structural Engineer at Shaw Pipe. Hawley graduated with three bachelor’s degrees – in science, education, and engineering – from St. Francis Xavier University. He also completed the Queen’s University Leadership and Finance programs and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Nova Scotia.
