Shaw Resources reinvests in Nova Scotia’s rural economyPosted on May 11, 2017
The Shaw Group Limited has long recognized the importance of continued investment and innovation in Nova Scotia’s rural economy to secure growth opportunities here at home and in export markets.
Shaw Resources, a division of The Shaw Group Limited, has made the decision to reinvest in its Nova Scotia Sand and Gravel operations through the modernization of its packaging plant facilities which will include new equipment such as storage silos for raw materials, conveyors, mixing equipment, and a bulk bag filling system. All of these upgrades will improve operational efficiencies, improve productivity, and enable Nova Scotia Sand and Gravel to capitalize on growth opportunities. Ultimately, this will help us service the growing, diverse and specialized needs of our local, regional and international customers for years to come. In support of this modernization, it was announced on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 that ACOA has provided a $1,500,000 repayable contribution to the Shaw Group Limited to assist in this redevelopment.
Our Company’s decision to make this significant investment along with ACOAs repayable contribution to this project will enable our rural Nova Scotian operations and our employees to achieve a more efficient and competitive production of goods, improved productivity and secure the long-term viability of our Nova Scotia Sand and Gravel operations for many years to come.
