Shaw Group Announces New President

Posted on Mar 30, 2012

Dean Robertson was appointed President of The Shaw Group Limited at the Annual General Meeting in September, 2011. He has been functioning as our Vice President for the last two years and this latest move is part of the company’s succession planning.

Prior to joining The Shaw Group in 1998, Dean held senior managerial positions with McCain Foods Limited and Lewis Mouldings Limited. He graduated from Acadia University with a Certificate in Applied Science before earning a degree in Industrial Engineering from Dalhousie’s Technical University of Nova Scotia.

As General Manager of Shaw Wood, Dean worked with a strong team who grew the company to become one of IKEA’s top ranking producers in North America. Appointed General Manager of Prestige Homes in 2006, Dean worked with a keen group of employees, who already embraced the lean manufactured concepts and continually sought improvements.

“Dean is a logical choice for President,” says CEO Bert Frizzell. “He has been with The Shaw Group for the last 13 years holding various managerial positions. This extensive experience combined with his enthusiasm and passion for his work make him a great fit.”

As The Shaw Group’s new President, Dean will directly oversee the work of Shaw Brick, Shaw Precast Solutions, Shaw Resources, Ven-Rez, and Prestige Homes.
